John Fielding: Waterford West man charged with trafficking ice
A Logan man charged with 44 offences, including two counts of trafficking ice and GHB, has told a court he faces the loss of his home, but not his family support.

A 45-year-old Logan man who spent Christmas in jail after being charged in December last year with 44 offences including two counts of trafficking in methamphetamine and gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB) and 31 counts of drug supply has told a court he faces the loss of his home next week.
However, all is not lost for Waterford West man John Edward Fielding, 45, who still retains the support of his 18-year-old daughter, who returned to Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Thursday despite waiting in vain all day Wednesday for a glimpse of her father.
Despite being listed, Mr Fielding was not linked in to the court as his previous solicitor only appeared briefly to withdraw after being unable to take instructions from their client.
Yesterday morning, however, Mr Fielding appeared before Magistrate Michael O’Driscoll via videolink and managed to pass a message to his tearful daughter despite not being able to physically see her.
“I can’t contact you, I love you,” he said just before the link was cut.
Mr Fielding told the court he has just engaged Kris Jahnke of Guest Lawyers but was struggling to arrange his affairs.
“It’s so hard to do anything in here, the phones are broken in the unit and we’re at capacity (150 people),” Mr Fielding said.
“The bank’s taking away my house on Monday.
“I can’t fight anything in here.”
Police allege Mr Fielding trafficked in GHB and ice between July – December last year.
In addition to his two charges of trafficking and 31 of supplying a dangerous drug, he is also charged with alleged offences including possessing weapons and drug utensils.
He was arrested on December 11 and has remained behind bars since.
His charges will next be mentioned on March 11.
