Logan man charged with incest, rape of daughters over 20 years

A man in his fifties has been arrested and charged with 15 offences, including incest, rape and indecent treatment of two children.

A Logan man has been arrested and charged with fifteen child sex offences relating to the alleged rape and abuse of his two daughters stemming back to the year 2000.

The Loganlea man in his fifties, who can’t be identified for legal reasons, was initially charged with one count of rape and indecent treatment of a child under the age of 12 on February 16.

However, yesterday the man was slugged with 13 additional charges, which included three additional counts of rape, incest, and nine further counts of indecent treatment of children under the age of 16 and under the age of 12.

The indecent treatment charges include alleged instances of procuring a child to commit an indecent act; exposing a child to indecent acts, either by the offender or any other person; and permitting himself to be dealt with indecently.

The charges relate to two separate complainants and were allegedly committed at various dates from the year 2000 onwards.

The man’s bail application was heard in closed court on Thursday to protect the identity of the complainants.

His charges will next be before the Magistrates Court on March 18.
