Boronia Heights resident Jarryd Anthony Wittman appeared in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Monday charged with one count of bomb hoax (place article/substance) and once count of going armed to cause fear.

Police will alleged the 27-year-old placed an article in a public place on Tovey Rd, Boronia Heights with an intention of inducing another person to believe that article was likely to discharge a dangerous substance on August 7, 2021.

Wittman, who represented himself in court, said his first application for Legal Aid had been knocked back and he had since submitted an application for it to be reviewed.

His matters were adjourned to January 13.
