A drugged-up young mum hit a man in the head with a fire extinguisher before crashing his stolen car into a fence, a court has heard.

Beenleigh District Court heard on Friday (May 5) that Eden Zivarna Grace Brown, along with co-accused Justice Ivy Uppritchard, violently broke into a man’s Beenleigh home and stole his car.

The court heard 25-year-old Brown, from Loganlea, hit the man in the head with a fire extinguisher after stealing his bottle of anxiety medication Xanax.

The pair demanded the man’s car keys and stole his mobile phone.

Brown found the car keys and drove off with Uppritchard but later crashed into a fence.

Brown pleaded guilty to armed robbery in company with personal violence and unlawful use of a motor vehicle for the April 25, 2021 offending.

Upprotchard pleaded guilty to the same charges and was sentenced in April.

While on bail for her offending, on January 26, 2022, in Eagleby, Brown was driving in a car and was yelled at by another driver.

She saw the driver again at a service station and the other driver threw a spring roll at Brown.

Brown then followed the driver and mounted a footpath during the pursuit.

For this incident, Brown pleaded guilty to dangerous operation of a vehicle.

The court heard Brown was born in New Zealand and was a mother to two children.

She struggled with drug addiction and started using ice at age 16.

Judge Brian Devereaux said this type of offending was concerning to the community.

“You used the car as a weapon,” he said.

“It was hateful conduct in the sense it was completely in disregard to a person’s rights or interests. This is common of people with drug issues.

“This was atrocious behavior and you should be completely ashamed with yourself.”

Brown was sentenced to three years in prison and will be eligible for parole immediately.

Her driving licence was also disqualified for one year.
