A community has come together to mourn the loss of a man who died in a tragic workplace incident at an industrial site south of Brisbane.
Quest News understands a man named Danny Brown was crushed by a fibreglass pool on Wednesday, March 1 while working for Barrier Reef Pools Beaudesert. His funeral was held today.
A Workplace Health and Safety spokeswoman confirmed an investigation was underway.
“No comment can be made on what caused the incident at this stage,” she said.
Friends of the worker have shared tributes to social media following his passing.
“Gonna miss you Dan,” one person wrote on Facebook.
“You’ll forever be remembered and missed dearly mate.”
Another person echoed the same sentiments, writing Dan will “be deeply missed”.
Barrier Reef Pools Beaudesert was contacted for comment, but has not yet responded.
It is understood the fatal incident occurred at a Barrier Reef Pools warehouse in Beaudesert.
A police spokesman earlier told Quest News that emergency services were called to the Doug Sullivan Court address following reports of a workplace incident.
Mr Brown sustained critical injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.
No other patients required assessment by paramedics.
