Tributes are flowing for a beloved Logan father killed in a motorcycle crash at the weekend.

Aaron Te Moananui, 37, of Crestmead, was riding his motorcycle along Second Ave, Marsden, when he crashed near Macarthy Rd about 12.45am Saturday, March 11.

Mr Te Moananui sustained critical injuries and died at the scene.

Friend Simone Fountain said the crash was an “absolute shock”, and has launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for his funeral and grief-stricken family.

“This is an absolute shock to everyone and absolutely devastating for his family,” Ms Fountain said.

She said he was the “beloved son of Phillip and Denise … beloved brother of Rikki, Luke and Candice and beloved father of Manaia, Takana and Pania.

She said that although there was little she could do to “take away this pain and heartbreak”, she hoped any money raised would ease the financial pressure and help cover some of the costs involved in Mr Te Moananui’s farewell.

“Aaron was a loving and caring person and would have helped anyone in anyway he could,” Ms Fountain said.

Online, Mr Te Moananui — who was better known as Azza or Asr — has been remembered fondly by a wave of loved ones.

“This is very heartbreaking,” Elizabeth Aitken said.

“Aaron was a wonderful young man who had a promising life,” she said.

“Rest in peace Az, you will be sadly missed.”

Mish Raine shared his sorrow on social media.

“Rest in peace Azza. You will be sadly missed by all,” he said.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam vision from the area to come forward.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
