Chloe Weier, previously described in court as having a ‘terrible ice addiction’, was hauled before Beaudesert Magistrates Court for breaching bail for the second time this year.

A young woman facing serious drug charges has pleaded guilty to breaching bail for the second time this year, with a magistrate telling her she drastically needs to make changes in her life.

Chloe Anne Weier, 23, from Beaudesert, is facing several drug charges including possessing commercial quantities of ice.

Magistrate Tracy Mossop said if Weier wanted to turn her life around she needed to stop with the drugs and court appearances.

Weier was granted bail at Beenleigh Magistrates Court in August 2020 on the condition that she not have a mobile phone.

At that time she was charged with possessing knuckledusters and nunchucks, possessing dangerous drugs and drug utensils, possessing a Schedule 3 (generally more than 2g) amount of a “white powder” substance, and refusing to unlock mobile phones for police inspection.

Just four days after she was granted bail, she was allegedly found in possession of a stash of methylamphetamine (ice) and dodgy cash.

Another seven charges from her September 2020 court appearance included allegedly possessing 17g of ice, possessing other dangerous and restricted drugs, possessing a quantity of cash police allege is the proceeds of crime, and breaching bail conditions.

It’s understood these charges stemmed from a search warrant on the bail address at Jason Day Dr she shared with her partner.

In September, Magistrate Louise Shephard granted bail for Weir, who she described as having a “terrible meth addiction”.

In Beaudesert Magistrates Court this week, Weier pleaded guilty to breaching her bail and submitted an application to be granted use of a personal mobile phone.

The court heard Weier breached bail on March 19 this year, when she failed to report to the Beaudesert Police Station.

Police prosecutor Senior Constable Andrew Bjerring told the court Weier did report to the Beaudesert Police Station on Monday March 22.

She attended Beaudesert Medical Centre the Saturday after she was supposed to report to the police, to obtain a medical certificate for breaching bail.

The court heard Weier had another previous breach of bail back in February this year, resulting in a fine and a recorded conviction.

Magistrate Tracy Mossop said she appreciated Weier was unwell.

“But you can organise telehealth appointments and you could have gotten a medical certificate for that day,” Ms Mossop said.

“You’re on reporting conditions for good reason. You’ve got a lengthy history involving drugs.

“Every time you breach it (bail) you’ll come back before the court and the penalty could increase.”

Weier was fined $200 and a conviction was recorded.

An application was also made to enable Weier to own a personal mobile phone, and to report to Beaudesert Police Station Mondays and Fridays.

Ms Mossop granted this.

“She has to present her phone to police upon request to inspect as confirmation she’s not dealing drugs,” Ms Mossop said.

“She must not alter or delete any messages concerning drug use or supply.”
