An enraged Logan glazier attacked a man with a pole and broke his arm after catching him with his partner, a court has heard.

Brendon Paul Wells, 30, pleaded guilty in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Thursday to assault occasioning bodily harm while armed.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Karine Evans said Wells had been armed with a pole and attacked a man at a residence in Buccan in August 2020.

The court heard he struck the man in the arms, legs and head, leaving him with a broken arm.

Wells, who represented himself in court, said the attack had been an act of “anger and hurt.”

“I found my partner cheating on me with the victim,” he said.

“A real lot of hurt finding the person you love with someone else.”

The court heard Wells had a relevant criminal history, with two past convictions for assault occasioning bodily harm from 2019 and 2012.

He was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment, suspended for two years.
