The court heard the young Eagleby man had decided to go on a driving lesson after having a few drinks on July 2 and the Landcruiser he was driving was involved in a collision along Dryandra Drive in Eagleby.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Darrel Armfield said Dore later produced a breath alcohol content of 0.063 per cent

He told the court it wasn’t a high limit, but it was high for a driver who should have a zero reading.

Magistrate Michael O’Driscoll said the incident was a result of “very poor decision making.”

“If you wanted to learn how to drive a 0.0 result would have been the best way to start with,” he said.

“Obviously the damage to the local community, there may not have been much traffic on the streets but certainly in relation to the damage to the residence in that locality its always a concern.”

He was fined $1800 and disqualified from driving for 12 months.
