A “totally unacceptable” violent episode involving a vacuum cleaner has left a Logan man facing court and eyeing off jail time.

A Logan man has faced court after throwing multiple household objects, including a vacuum cleaner, at his ex-partner in a violent attack.

The Boronia Heights man pleaded guilty in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on August 24 to two counts of contravening a domestic violence order (DVO).

The court heard the 26-year-old had a history of DVO offences and was on probation at the time.

“These two (offences) involved some violence,” police prosecutor Sergeant Karine Evans said.

His lawyer, Bettina Webb, said the man had not been coping well at the time.

“He said that he needs to be able to deal with his emotions, triggers, angers,” Ms Webb said.

“He’s internally not coping as well as he could be.

“It's just unfortunate that he entered a relationship which on both ends was very hostile.”

Magistrate Pamela Dowse said his actions could land him in jail.

“He could go to jail and that would be a lesson he would remember,” Ms Dowse said.

“It’s totally, totally unacceptable.

“There was a vacuum cleaner thrown at her.”

“If you don’t learn some very serious lessons you will be going to jail.

The 26-year-old received an 18 month probation order.

Convictions were recorded.
