A concreter busted with 0.5 grams meth four days after his parole release has been convicted and not further punished after spending three months in custody.
Appearing at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Wednesday (June 15) Blake Adam Patrick Nash, 27, pleaded guilty to two charges.
It included possessing dangerous drugs.
The court heard Shailer Park man Nash was released on parole for a recent 18-month prison sentence on March 11.
On March 15 he “made full admissions” when police busted him with 0.5 grams meth.
It bolstered a “quite significant criminal history”, according to police.
Nash’s defence solicitor said it was “obviously disappointing” that he reoffended “so soon” and put it down to the drug’s strong “temptation”.
The court heard the defendant had spent 92 days in pre-sentence custody and planned to move to Roma.
The defence further noted Nash still had six months on his parole, which remained active.
Nash told the court he was, “quite willing to not stuff up again”.
With 92 days pre-sentence custody declared time served, he was convicted and not further punished.
