A Gold Coast business owner who was kicked out of a strip club in Brisbane’s entertainment precinct, then caused a shirtless, drunken scene, has faced court.

On August 13 at Eye Candy Strip Club in Fortitude Valley, Bayley Jaye Baker caused a drunken fight with another punter and was kicked out by security, heard Beenleigh Magistrates Court.

The 25-year-old Oxenford salesman then took his shirt off, hurled abuse at the security guard and punched him in the face.

He also raised his fists towards the security guards, pushed and shoved them and caused a disturbance in the area, on a busy Saturday night, threatening two other members of the public.

Magistrate Mark Howden said Baker was “generally carrying on” and “made a scene”.

Baker pleaded guilty on Friday, October 20 to common assault in public while adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, public nuisance and being refused entry to a licensed premises.

The court heard Baker operated his own business in the sales industry.

He was already serving a good behaviour bond and was ordered to pay $700 for breaching the recognisance period.

Baker was also ordered to complete 50 hours of unpaid community service within six months.

Magistrate Howden said this was the defendant’s last chance.

“You’ve come before the courts previously for obstructing police and other incidents involving alcohol,” he said.

“You need to manage your drinking or something very serious may happen. This is your last warning.”

No conviction was recorded.
