A Marsden panel beater has been remanded in custody after allegedly disturbing religious worship and violently assaulting someone during an incident in Underwood.

Jaymin Ray Higham, 35, was not granted bail when his matters were mentioned in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

He stands charged with assault occasioning bodily harm while armed/in company, disturbing religious worship/assault officiator, using a carriage service to menace, harass or cause offence and affray.

The court heard Higham was arrested by police August 28 and the majority of the charges laid against him relate to a violent incident that took place in Underwood on August 27, while the using carriage offence date allegedly happened the day prior in Hamilton.

His matters have been listed for call-over on October 20, 2021.
