Inala Police: Wanted woman arrives at station with drugs in shoe

A southwest Brisbane woman who arrived at a police station to hand herself in over outstanding warrants has landed herself in further trouble after drugs were allegedly discovered in her shoe.

Police have charged a woman who they say she walked into a southwest Brisbane station with drugs hidden in her shoe with drug possession.

Inala Police say the 25-year-old Redbank Plains woman was wanted on outstanding warrants and so at about 11am on Friday, she arrived at the station to hand herself in.

“As she was taken into custody, a preliminary search located a white crystalline substance inside one of her shoes,” Inala Police OIC Snr Sgt Craig MacKenzie said.

“Preliminary tests indicated that the substance was approximately two grams of cocaine.”

The woman was charged with possessing a dangerous drug and will appear before the Ipswich Magistrates Court on November 24.
