A young Logan man has been arrested and charged after allegedly consuming a large amount of cannabis overnight and stabbing his dad in the chest, who was transported to the PA Hospital in a serious condition.

A young Logan man has been arrested and charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm after allegedly stabbing his father in the chest in the early hours of this morning after consuming “five to ten cones” of cannabis.
Berrinba man Danny Brandan Lee, 20, allegedly stabbed his father, Malcolm, in the left side of his chest, narrowly missing his heart, at about 12.05am this morning at the Berrinba residence they shared.

Beenleigh Magistrates Court heard Malcolm was lying in bed smoking a cigarette when Mr Lee allegedly entered the room and stabbed him, puncturing his lung.
Mr Lee then allegedly left the room, leaving his father to pull the knife from his chest himself, before returning to the room a short time later to “apologise”, police prosecutor Tim Wise said.
The court heard Mr Lee had smoked “five to ten cones” prior to the alleged stabbing and told officers he “doesn’t know why he did it”.
Mr Wise submitted there was a strong Crown case courtesy of certain “admissions” Mr Lee made after his arrest.
Mr Lee was bailed to an address at Mount Warren Park to live with other family, on condition that he submit to a 6pm – 5am curfew, report twice weekly to police and subject himself to drug testing.
A QAS spokesman said a patient was transported to the PA Hospital just after midnight from a private address at Berrinba in a “serious” condition.
