The supplying charges related to two men living with her who allegedly had access to Mullineux’s “communal” stash of the drug.

One of the men will face court next week.

The court heard Mullineux had a lengthy history of drug offending, which included two years’ imprisonment in 2012 for drug trafficking and six months’ imprisonment in 2014 for possessing dangerous drugs.

She again pleaded guilty to possessing dangerous drugs last year.

Defence lawyer Arun Raniga told the court his client used the drug to manage chronic pain caused by a traffic incident in 1965 where she broke her back and pelvis.

“She hasn’t used lately,” he added.

Mr Raniga also told the court Mullineux was a witness to an alleged murder late last year which precipitated her offending.

Magistrate Kerrie O’Callaghan noted from Mullineux’s references she was “spoken very highly” of in her local community due to her volunteer work with a church and her efforts in assisting homeless people find accommodation.

Mullineux was sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment with immediate court-ordered parole.
