The fallout from last week’s three-on-one gang-up of a Year 7 student continues, with a petition now calling for their suspension from school: ‘Those girls need to get what they deserve.’

Brutal fight at Brisbane school

The fallout from last Tuesday’s three-on-one schoolyard attack at Calamvale Community College on a Year 7 student has continued, with a petition now calling for the suspension of the three “bullies”.

Shocking footage of the fight emerged on social media last week, which showed first one, then two, then three students launching into the Year 7 victim while helpless teachers watched on.

According to the victim’s mother, she attempted to return to school Thursday, only to request to leave later that day due to feeling unsafe amid vile insults, including that she was a “snitch” and a “slut”.

Officers from the Oxley District Child Protection and Investigation Unit are now investigating, with the family keen to pursue a formal criminal complaint.

Now there is another twist in the sordid case, with an Instagram page being created by a CCC student in support of the Year 7 victim.

The Instagram page links through to a change.org petition calling for the “suppention (sic) of the girls who beat up (the victim)”.

It has been signed by 209 people, with many denouncing bullying in all forms.

“Fight needs to stop. It’s a form of bullying,” said Belinda Rodwell.

“Sick of schools and police putting this behaviour in the too-hard basket,” said Garth Dunn.

The student who created the Instagram did not respond to Courier Mail requests, but in a comment posted to one of the page’s photos, revealed they were sick of the school’s violent culture.

“It’s absolutely crazy how many fights happen at CCC,” they said.

“Those girls need to get what they deserve.”

The victim’s mother said only one of the three girls involved in the fight, understood to be two Year 10s and a Year 7, have been suspended thus far.

Education Queensland and CCC executive principal declined to comment further, citing students’ privacy.
