Artists prepare for Sandgate Easter show

MORE than 40 artists will be exhibiting more than 100 works at the 11th Sandgate Easter Art Show next week.
Sandgate Art Society (SasArt) president John Blackley said most of the artists were from the greater Sandgate district but there were some from the Moreton region
“There will be paintings, photography, pottery and sculpture on show,” he said.

“The Easter Art Show is a highly anticipated event for artists and the public.
“It is the biggest local art event of the year.”
There are five categories: Open 2D, Open 3D, Open Photo/Digital, Primary School and High School.

The show will be officially opened at 7pm on Thursday, April 18 with canapes, live music and beverages.
A Hawaiian night, with a local ukulele band, will be held on Friday, April 19, with fancy dress encouraged. Entry to the show is by gold coin donation.
The Sandgate Easter Art Show will be held in the Callan Centre, St Patrick’s College, 30 Pier Ave, Shorncliffe on April 18, 6.30-8.30pm; April 19, 9am-9pm; and April 20, 9am-4pm.
