We’ll take you to a deceased estate in Kangaroo Point via our Gavl auction livestream before following first-home buyers to Ferny Hills in Brisbane’s north with Harcourts chief auctioneer Christian Hamilton. Justin Nickerson of Apollo Auctions will be in Bardon where a renovated character home with a self-contained lower level will go under the hammer and we’ll also stream auctions via Gavl in Gordon Park, Camp Hill and Sherwood.
Brisbane heads to auction with an improved auction clearance rate of 40 per cent from last week.
Auctions will stream throughout the day with replays to follow. And don’t forget to follow our live auction blog, also on the Courier-Mail home page.
PASSED IN: 4 Danyo Crescent, Ferny Hills – 3 Bed / 1 Bath / 4 Car on 635sq m
Fresh coffee is on offer at the auction of this Ferny Hills home which is a chance for first-home buyers to get into the property market.
The sellers were first-home buyers when they purchased here two years ago but they are now keen to move closer to their work in Caboolture.
“The house needs some work but there is value for money because of the location,” selling agent Lolit Bumanlag says.
There have been 11 groups of buyers through open homes.
“Some are looking for their first home, some have sold and would like a change and there is the potential for dual living because you have the downstairs area as well.” Agents: Lolit and Mark Bumanlag, Harcourts Pinnacle – Aspley; Auctioneer: Christian Hamilton
SOLD for $2.135M: 61 Lizzie St, Bardon – 5 Bed / 3 Bath / 2 Car on 516sq m
Auction update: Negotiations continued after our livestream ended and the property sold under the hammer for $2.135m to a young family from Paddington.

In Brisbane’s west, 85 groups of buyers have inspected this renovated family home, including interstate buyers who have been renting in Brisbane and are now keen to buy property.
“There’s a lot of interstate arrivals who haven’t purchased and are renting but their rentals are running out and they are needing to make the decision to buy or renew their leases,” Ray White Paddington’s Judi O’Dea says.
The home has main bedrooms upstairs as well as an ensuited bedroom downstairs along with a work from home station and second living area.
“This is a really perfect floorplan and a beautiful renovation at the back of the house for families and it’s got that flow from the kitchen and dining to the deck and an amazing pool.” Agents: Judi O’Dea and Michael Kleimeyer, Ray White Paddington; Auctioneer: Justin Nickerson
9AM – 34 Walmsley St, Kangaroo Point – 3 Bed / 1 Bath / 1 Car on 501sq m
Between Main St and River Terrace in Kangaroo Point is a coveted pocket of generational homes that rarely hit the market. This one has been in the one family for 50 years, and they were the third owners of this pre-war home.
“We’ve had two sales in two years in this little pocket, that’s how rare it is,” selling agent and fellow Kangaroo Point local Tony Duncombe says.
Numbers through open homes haven’t been huge, with 25 groups of buyers inspecting ahead of the auction but the rate of multiple inspections has been twice what agents would expected with interest from the Northern Rivers of NSW, Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.
And 80 per cent of potential buyers are looking to renovate to stay in the home on its 501sq m block. Agent: Tony Duncombe, Place Ascot; Auctioneer: Peter Burgin
10AM – 47 Richmond St, Gordon Park – 5 Bed / 3 Bath / 2 Car on 405sq m
An executive family home built in 2007 with living areas on both levels, an in-ground pool and a rear entertaining deck. Agent: Karen McBryde, Place New Farm; Auctioneer: Peter Burgin
4PM – 8 Donald St, Camp Hill – 3 Bed / 1 Bath / 2 Car
Bought in 2020 and cosmetically renovated in the two years’ since, the owners of this property have already relocated to Toowoomba and 23 groups of buyers have inspected the home ahead of its auction.
Homeowners are most keen on the house but there is investment interest as well.
Agent: Denis Najzar, Place Woolloongabba; Auctioneer: Peter Burgin
5PM – 40 Magazine St, Sherwood – 4 Bed / 2 Bath / 2 Car on 683sq m
This home was co-designed by one of Australia’s first bikini models and has been in the same family for three decades. Property data from PropTrack shows Sherwood home values have risen by 22 per cent in the 12 months to the end of July and Place Graceville selling agent Matt O’Neill says Sherwood’s village feel and proximity to quality schools, parklands and shopping centres has made the suburb an ideal base for families as well as downsizers.
