A Brisbane home that made international headlines when it was turned into a replica of Bluey’s house from the hit children’s television series, and a Nanango church hall that was moved to Brisbane to become an ultra-modern family home, are among the homes to feature in our live auction coverage that starts at 9AM.

We’ll also take you to the Brisbane riverfront, north to Gaythorne and south to Holland Park as we livestream auctions with award-winning auctioneers Justin Nickerson, Paul Curtain, Peter Burgin, David Holmes and Christian Hamilton.
Our auction livestream will include replays so you won’t miss any of the action. And we will be posting auction results and news from around the region on our live auction blog that runs from 11am on Saturday on the couriermail.com.au homepage.
Brisbane heads to auction on Saturday with a 71 per cent clearance rate from auctions held last week.
SOLD FOR $825,000 – 30 Ludlow St, Gaythorne 3 Bed / 1 Bath / 1 Car on 615sq m
“Not for the feint-hearted but definitely worth the effort’ is how selling agents are describing this renovation project in a northern Brisbane suburb where available homes are a rare commodity. There are only five houses on the market for sale in Gaythorne at the moment including this one, and the suburb, tucked between Mitchelton and Enoggera, has recorded four home sales so far this year.
This old girl is a post-war home with no character overlay to impede development and comes with its own skeleton in the roof that is visible from the back entrance — the only working entrance into the house.
“It’s the skeleton of a possum and the tail is coming down through the roof so you can see the skeleton,” selling agent Chris Stutz said.
The home has never tested the Brisbane property market and has been empty for six years although the property has been maintained by the same person for 18 years.
Harcourts Solutions Group are getting back on their feet after their Windsor office drowned in the recent floods.
“We lost everything under there,” Ms Stutz said. “Our bidder registration forms drowned with the rest of the stuff but the auctioneer always brings more with him.”

SOLD FOR $1.4M – 11/96 Oxlade Drive, New Farm 2 Bed / 2 Bath / 2 Car
To Brisbane’s riverfront and New Farm’s coveted Oxlade Drive, where a fourth floor apartment in the Riviera Apartments is returning to market after being sold mid last year for $1.16m. Brisbane’s apartment market is leading all Australian capital cities for growth, climbing 4.6 per cent since the beginning of the year while Sydney and Melbourne have recorded negative growth. Agents: Aaron Woolard and Dylan Leone, Place New Farm; Auctioneer: Peter Burgin
SOLD FOR $2.9M: 101 Henderson St, Bulimba 4 Bed / 3 Bath / 4 Car on 869sq m
A house with a name, in a pocket of Bulimba where the streets are all named for famous poets. “Endcliffe” was built in the 1930s, has dual street access and is close to all the local attractions along Oxford St and Hawthorne Rd. It offers single level living with established gardens, a glass-framed in-ground swimming pool and a generous master bedroom.
Agent: Sarah Hackett, Place Bulimba; Auctioneer: Paul Curtain
SOLD FOR $1.905M: 25 Doughty Ave, Holland Park West 4 Bed / 2 Bath / 2 Car on 607sq m
Built by Plantation Homes in 2013 in an established character precinct of Holland Park West, the house has been upgraded with a suite of technological and luxury inclusions, from an automated gate with coded entry, Aiphone intercom, as well as a basketball court with an adjustable NBA regulation hoop and a glass backboard. Agents: Ricky Tan and Will Torres, Torres Property Coorparoo; Auctioneer: David Holmes
REPLAY: Negotiating - 79 Buena Vista Ave, Coorparoo 5 Bed / 4 Bath / 3 Car on 809sq m
A century-old church hall, that was never meant to be lived in, has been transformed into a modern family home ahead of Saturday’s auction in a five-year journey that saw it transported more than 200km from Nanango to Brisbane before being incorporated into this modern build. The sustainable family home includes two villas off the main church hall space, each with a bedroom, bathroom, walk-in wardrobe, loft and living area or second bedroom. While the former Salvation Army hall has a ‘floating’ master bedroom and ensuite above the main kitchen and living area. On the lower level there is a magnesium pool with waterfall, an impressive alfresco area and a temperature-controlled wine cellar with natural basalt stone and timber walls. Agent: Jamal Naouri, Place Coorparoo; Auctioneer: Peter Burgin
REPLAY: Negotiating – 45 Laurel St, Enoggera 4 Bed / 3 Bath / 2 Car on 405sq m
Located in the family-friendly Enoggera Avenues, this two-storey house has the main kitchen and living areas upstairs with a rear deck overlooking a grassed backyard, while downstairs has a rumpus, the fourth bedroom, a bathroom and the garage with a separate storage room. Agents: Matthew Jabs and Ross Armstrong, Place Newmarket; Auctioneer: Peter Burgin
SOLD FOR $1.845M – 55 Charlotte St, Paddington 3 Bed / 1 Bath / 3 Car on 405sq m
This home in trendy inner-city Paddington was secretly transformed into the iconic cottage from the mega-hit cartoon Bluey for a few weeks in February this year as part of an international campaign between the BBC and Airbnb which saw one family stay in the home for a weekend.
But there were no signs of Bluey when around 90 groups of buyers came to inspect the home ahead of Saturday’s auction.
The house had been rented by Airbnb and painted almost every colour of the rainbow inside and out, and an iconic bay window was custom-made for the campaign.
All has since been removed and the house returned to a more neutral colour palette.
“They did make good and returned it really well,” selling agent Chris Gower said.
“They painted it nicely and put down a driveway and we were quite grateful.”
Styling professional Deb Mink has given the home a more traditional makeover, choosing a neutral colour scheme to draw attention to the home’s natural assets.
“It’s amazing what a coat of paint can do, whether you’re turning it blue or turning it not blue,” Ms Mink said. “We used lots of fresh white furniture to make the spaces more uplifting, with touches of colour to give some interest.” Agents: Chris Gower and Oliver Reid, Gower Property Group, Paddington; Auctioneer: Justin Nickerson
