Seventy per cent of Brisbane house auctions scheduled for Saturday are still going ahead, despite large parts of the city being submerged in this week’s flood emergency.

Saturday was to be a super auction weekend with 120 homes going under the hammer. A lethal combination of river and flash flooding saw more than 15,000 properties experience flooding to some degree.
Despite the widespread flood emergency, 84 of Saturday’s planned auctions will still go ahead, including auctions in Indooroopilly, Ashgrove and Graceville, while at least one home has converted to a private treaty sale in Rocklea, with an amended listing that simply says: “Raised Top Level Untouched And In Perfect Condition”.
There are 13 auctions that have been postponed to either next weekend or the weekend after, eight that have now been converted to private treaty sales, eight that sold prior to Saturday’s auction, one auction that was postponed with no new date fixed, and four homes in Oxley, Goodna, Banyo and Northgate that had their auctions cancelled and were taken off the market.
We will bring you live auction coverage across Greater Brisbane with award-winning auctioneers Justin Nickerson, Paul Curtain, Peter Burgin, David Holmes and Christian Hamilton so you can keep an eye on the Brisbane property market in real time. Our first auction starts at 10am.
