A retro-style home in the outer north Brisbane suburb of Aspley has sold for $1.02m under the hammer.
The three-bedroom property at 9 Boulter Street attracted four registered bidders and a crowd of nearly 50 onlookers.
Marketed by agent Nick Thornton of Ray White Wilston, the house had been owned by the same family since 1971.
Mr Thornton said the sellers were “over the moon”. “He is 91 and she is 88 and they have lived in the house for 53 years, since 1971, and they are both now moving into care,” he said.
“It was a good campaign with four offers prior and they all came and bid, which shows that auctions work as they provide the social proof for buyers.”
