Eight bidders registered for the auction.
The property has hit the market for the first time in 69 years.
Auctioneer Justin Nickerson from Apollo Auctions said he thought the auction result today was interesting.
"Three or four years ago you would have had 25 bidders for a home like this," Mr Nickerson said.
"Bidders have fallen off because they don’t want to pay off the nose for builders.
"People have now accepted building costs and are not afraid of something needing a bit of work."
The property was listed by Alison Euler from Alison Euler Properties.

13 bidders registered for the auction.
Property agent Max Hadgelias from Ray White Paddington said the campaign was short and the result exceeded vendor expectations.

"It was 17 days from start to finish," Mr Hadgelias said.
"We saw a strong opening bid of $1.975m, represented by a buyers agent which eliminated a lot of the competition straight away."

21 bidders registered to take part in the auction.
Property agent Luke Rissman from Rissman Property Newstead said it was an unbelievable campaign.
"I've never seen anything like it, it was out of control, the auction was a really good vibe," Mr Rissman said.

"We had a coffee van out there today, it was a really good sense of community.
"We had interest from first home buyers, owner occupied buyers and investors."
Mr Rissman said his advice to buyers would be to get in early and ask as many questions as you can.
"Put your best foot forward and get yourself prepped," he said.
Auctioneer Justin Nickerson from Apollo Auctions said the real message from buyers over the last three to four weeks had been that they're ready to buy.
"Properties from $865,000 to $3.2m, buyers are really keen," Mr Nickerson said.
"It has been encouraging, it's a good sign that the market is in shape."

Property agent Hamish Bowman from Hamish Bowman Properties said the campaign overall went really well.
"There’s two houses side by side, we sold number 37 pre-auction and this one we’re just negotiating," Mr Bowman said.

Property agent Adam Nobel from Hugo Alexander Property Group Bulimba said the auction exceeded expectations today.
"We had 65 people out there for the auction today, we had bidding from all our bidders, so we're really happy with the outcome," Mr Nobel said.
"The home went to a family that already live in the street and the daughter who is pregnant will have her second child will be down the street from their family.
"It's a really nice story.

Mr Nobel said his advice to buyers would be to open the bidding.
"If there is a pause at anytime, the person who is the last person to bid is almost always the person who is spoken to first and has the first right in negotiations to buy the property, they put themselves in a better position to other buyers."
Auctioneer David Holmes from David Holmes auctions said the spring boom is well and truly here.
"Buyers seem pretty keen after no recent interest rate hikes and they were happy to bid," Mr Holmes said.
"Buyers need to go to the auction and prepare themselves.
"Auctions aren’t going away they’re becoming more prevalent and you need to get yourself in a good position with bid with your broker."

Seven bidders registered to take part in the auction.
Property agent Angela Stergou from Leo Tsimpikas Real Estate West End said the result today was excellent.
"I'm absolutely happy with the result the owner was really happy," Ms Stergou said.
"A lot of people are waiting for the prices to come down and there’s a lot of buyers on the market and they’re ready to go.

"Buyers are giving written on the offers on the first open home, that’s what’s happening to alot of properties I’m selling at the moment.
"We’re getting written offers on the first open.
"My advice to buyers would be if you do like the place, show your interest and show it quickly cause stock is going."
Auctioneer David Holmes from David Holmes auctions said today's auction felt like pre-covid times.
"It was great, fast paced and well over reserve," Mr Holmes said.
The block of units was sold to a Sydney investor.

A four-bedroom, three-bathroom property at 25 Greer Street, Bardon has sold under the hammer for $2.2m with an opening bid of $1.8m.
Two bidders were registered for the auction.
Auctioneer Justin Nickerson from Apollo Auctions said most of the bidders that were coming into auctions were prepared.
"Buyers are coming in at a reasonable level to try and knock out competition. The days of getting bargains gone," Mr Nickerson said.
"You need to be ahead of your competition and bid aggressively."
The property was sold by property agent Caroline Brown from Caroline Brown Property.

The auction opened with a strong bid of $1.7m.
16 bidders registered for the auction.
Property agent Holly Bowden from Ray White Wilston said she was surprised with how many buyers from Gordon Park wanted to purchase the property.
"It’s a very tightly held community and very hard to get into," Ms Bowden said.

"This property has been in the same family for 100 years, many of the blocks are held by the original home owners in their late stages of life.
"The auction was an extremely rare opportunity for buyers to purchase a piece of history in a quality street."

Ms Bowden said she was really excited for the price that was achieved at auction today.
"It was exciting for me to help my clients close a chapter," she said.
"The new buyers were from Hendra moving into the suburb to be near family.

"I do a lot of strategy with buyers, this particular person was successful because they came into the auction strong.
"If you want to secure the property, you want to come out with a strong plan.
