And that's a wrap for today.

Ray White Queensland chief auctioneer Gavin Groft said buyers would have to wait until May to see a bump in stock levels to choose from.

“Looks like we're going to have to wait until May before we get to see that explosion of new stock start to hit the marketplace throughout Brisbane," he said. "Lower stock levels continue to unfold this week and it is no different on the auction front. So those low stock levels are providing the continued opportunity for home sellers both north, east, west and south of the Brisbane CBD."

Strong sale prices for homes in Seventeen Mile Rocks

A last minute bidder has won the keys to a renovated, low-set home in Seventeen Mile Rocks.

Auctioneer Justin Nickerson said the buyer registered to bid at the last minute and secured the four-bedroom house for $950,000.

Down the road, a three-bedroom house at 5 Roberts Street sold for $903,000 after some fierce bidding between two potential buyers.

investors were out in force in Collingwood Park, where a three-bedroom brick house fetched $562,500 at auction.

The property at 28 Dobell Ave attracted seven registered bidders, with part of the appeal the fact it was tenanted until August for $400 a week.

Ray White AKG sales agent Leyton Robinson said the property attracted plenty of neighbourhood interest with 50 people in the crowd witnessing two investors battling it out. "Properties that are rented out are attracting great interest. This one was a great investment and ready to go.”

Earlier in the day, Mr Robinson also sold 9 Neumann Dr, Collingwood Park, for $588,000 with three investors battling for the keys. “There’s a lot of investors out in the market who are active right now, which is great.”

Sold for $758,000: Interstate investors compete for Logan three-bedder

It was a case of too many buyers, not enough listings over in Logan Reserve, where a three-bedroom house at 21 Annette Street attracted 13 registered bidders.

Six bidders actively competed for the property, which sold under the hammer for $758,000.

Marketing agent Jett Jones of Ray White Marsden said this sale broke the three-bedroom suburb record for a residential block.

“According to recently released data, Logan Reserve is a top 10 net immigration suburbs and the results show why," she said. "The eventual buyer was local, but faced fierce competition from a lot of interstate buyers."

70 bids and almost $1m for knockdown cottage

A quirky cottage in Shorncliffe sparked a bidding war between two competitive buyers this afternoon.

Apollo Auctions auctioneer Justin Nickerson said the last 40 bids for the three-bedroom house at 38 Raymond Street came down to $500 increments before it sold for $980,500 under the hammer.

Mr Nickerson said one of the bidders was using "assertive" tactics to try and secure the home, which is awaiting demolition approval with Brisbane City Council.

The tiny cottage had been in the hands of the same owner for four decades.

Sold for $1.6m: School catchment drawcard for Wishart family home

The esteemed Mansfield State High School catchment was the big drawcard for the auction of a four-bedroom house in Wishart this afternoon.

The tidy brick home at 31 Lexington Place attracted eight registrations, with five actively bidding, before selling under the hammer for $1.6m.

Marketing agent Alec McEwan of McGrath Wynnum/Manly said a family bidding over the phone from Sydney was the winning bidder, with plans to relocate.

"That area's very popular for the Mansfield high school catchment," Mr McEwan said.

The home also had an immaculate garden and yard.

"The lawns look like they're from a golf club, but that wasn't really the drawcard."

2-bedder on busy road fetches $850k at auction

A cute two-bedroom cottage on busy Newmarket Road in the popular inner Brisbane suburb of Wilston has sold for $850,000 at auction.

Five bidders registered and three actively competed for the property at 178 Newmarket Rd, which was marketed by Ray White Ascot agent Andy Flanagan.

Mr Flanagan said the property was his seller’s first home so they were upsizing to a bigger house.

“The buyer is a local lady who works nearby and she is happy," he said. "There was a large crowd watching the action."

Top agent buys 6-bedroom stunner at auction for $2.33m

It's not often you see the agents themselves buying at auction, but that's exactly what happened in Daisy Hill this afternoon.

Ray White Daisy Hill principal Avi Khan and his partner, Kaylea Sayer, were one of four bidders who competed for the keys to 45 Lynette Way before snaring it with a winning bid of $2.339m.

Marketing agent Kate Handley of Ray White Waterford said the property attracted a lot of interest, with more than 35 groups through during its campaign. “There was so much interest as houses in the coveted Sanctuary Estate simply do not come up very often.”

Sold for $2.035m: Bidders fight for Camp Hill crowd pleaser

Over in one of Brisbane's most popular suburbs, a four-bedroom house at 45 Ara St, Camp Hill, fetched $2.035m under the hammer.
Not surprisingly, the property attracted 12 registered bidders a local buyer eventually trumping another local family.
The double-brick post-war home was marketed by Tony O'Doherty of Belle Property and offered sweeping city views.
Auctioneer Justin Nickerson said it was an exceptional case given its location and potential. "Camp Hill is one of Brisbane's most sought-after suburbs," he said. "It offered city views from the front so you could rebuild to maximise the views."

19 bidders! Bidding war for East Brisbane block of units

About 100m down the road, a block of brick units at 17 Geelong Street attracted a whopping 19 registered bidders – all investors.
Apollo Auctions auctioneer Justin Nickerson said a bidding war ensued as competition heated up for the prized investment opportunity before it sold under the hammer for $3.05m. The post-war complex of four strata titled apartments delivered a total rental income of $98,280 per year or $1890/week. Its location near Mowbray Park, the Gabba, and Churchie school also made it appealing.
