It was smiles all around across much of Brisbane's auctions today.

What a fantastic day of auctions across Greater Brisbane today! Buyers seem to be confident in bidding despite high interest rates and fears of future rises.

Some highlights of today:

  • An East Brisbane cottage home sold for $1.470 drew a huge crowd and 28 bidders hoping for their slice of the Brisbane property market.
  • 10 bidders eyed off a low-rise Aspley home that sold for $1.275m
  • And to wrap up the day we saw a marathon 45 minute auction with two buyers going head to head for a renovated Queenslander in Coorparoo.

Coorparoo home sells for $1.175m in marathon 45 minute auction


A marathon 45 minute auction saw two bidders go head to head in their chance at this Coorparoo home.

A four-bedroom, two-bathroom home at 42 Temple Street, Coorparoo has sold under the hammer in a marathon auction lasting 45 minutes, for $1.175m with an opening bid of $700,000.

Two bidders faced off for the entire auction before one of the bidders conceded.
Property agent Jamal Naouri from Place Camp Hill said he wasn't expecting the auction to go for as long as it did.
"It was a great result for the owners they can finally move on with their future plans and the buyers had been looking for quite a while too," he said.
"The auction's length was a surprise to me, people were very relaxed, it's 4pm in the afternoon so they weren't in a rush.
"My area is going well, we're seeing great results across the board."

East Brisbane cottage with huge interest sells for $1.47m

This three-bedroom, two-bathroom home at 52 Northcote St, East Brisbane has headed to auction for the first time since 1988.
The property sold under the hammer for $1.470m with an opening bid of $800,000.
28 bidders registered to be part of the auction, with a huge crowd in attendance at the auction.

Property agent Madi Roche from The Agency Brisbane said the property was the most registered in East Brisbane, in comparison to the peak times.
"We're feeling really happy with the result,", she said.

"The buyers are from Sydney and they've been looking for a character cottage like this hence why they kept fighting to the end.
"We have a high demand on this side of Brisbane and very low supply which is why I think we got the result we did.
"Anything that is well kept is going to perform well in this market."

Norman Park property sparks conditional offers as auction passes in

An elevated three-bedroom, one-bathroom home at 15 Norman Ave, Norman Park has been passed in for $1m with conditional offers now in negotiations with agents.
The auction had three registered bidders in total.
Auctioneer Sam Kelso said "From a location point of view it doesn't get better than this".
Property agent Mikaela Crone from Place Bulimba said there was good conditional interest in the property, the buyers just needed to get their finances in order.
"Sales have been pretty strong in the inner east, there isn't enough properties on the market at the moment.
"There is talks of more stock coming but we're yet to see an influx of listings."

Property agent Matt Langfield of Place Woolloongabba said it was a strong result and the owners were very pleased.
"It was a very competitive auction, it was between three buyers that really wanted the property," Mr Langfield said.

"As far as the market is concerned, it's still pretty tight, we're doing what we need to do, we're chipping away.
"We're hoping in September/October we'll see the stock levels increase."

A three-bedroom, two-bathroom home at 28 Shaw St, Auchenflower has sold under the hammer for $1.415m with an opening bid of $1m.
The auction had eight registered bidders with 40 bids in total.
Auctioneer Justin Nickerson said it was a strong result and above expectations.
"Two bidders fought it out with a third bidder waiting until the very end to bid," he said.
“The affordable inner city ring suburbs are always performing very strongly, a Queenslander in itself is well sought after and aspirational real estate."

Property agent Russell Peter from Pure Real Estate said the result was quite positive today.
"Anything that's coming on the market is getting a good result," Mr Peter said.
"We had over 100 buyers in a four week campaign come through the property.
"I think there's going to be an increase in stock, vendors are starting to increase their interest in selling."

A prestige property with five-bedrooms and three-bathrooms at 215 Westlake Drive, Westlake has passed in for $2.7m with multiple buyers are interested in the property outside of auction conditions.
Eight registered bidders took part in the auction.
Property agent Jason Yang from NGU Real Estate said he was confident the home would sell in the next week or so.

"It was a really good turnout today," Mr Yang said.
"Our interested buyers they're cashed up and ready to go, with this market it takes just a little bit longer to get the buyers over the line."
The property has 180 degree views of the Brisbane River with large bedrooms and living spaces.

'Market resilent' as Taringa home sells

4 registered bidders took part in the auction.
Property agent Carol Summerlin from Dixon Estate Agents said she was very happy with the result.
"The seller and buyer were absolutely thrilled…the buyers are Brisbane locals,", she said.
"The market in my patch is very robust at the moment because we're close to everything: the university, good schools and outstanding infrastructure.
"It's a resilient market.
"Stock levels are very good at the moment, everything is selling."
