Which Aussie cities saw price growth in February?

Queensland’s top women of real estate have been revealed, with the state’s three biggest deal-makers inking more than half a billion dollars in sales in what was a mega 12 months.

In compiling the list, The Courier-Mail reached out to Queensland’s major real estate agencies and asked each one to nominate their top five female sales agents across the state, in order to provide an even spread of agencies in the list. Some agencies only submitted three entries.

The queen of residential sales is industry stalwart Sarah Hackett of Place Estate Agents, who sold 81 properties with a combined value of more than $266 million in 2023, including some of Brisbane’s most expensive riverfront homes.

“It was a unique year for me,” Ms Hackett said, boosted by three major developments that were under construction across New Farm and Bulimba settling.

“It is an outstanding year. For me it’s not the norm. (The developments) certainly made an incredible difference.

“This industry has so many dynamic females. This year was just the case of those amazing projects all coming in fruition in the one year and certainly some of these other agents that are right near me deserve to be there as well.”

Ms Hackett attributed her success to her “very dedicated and experienced team”.

She was closely followed by quiet achiever, Julia Kuo of Kollosche, who cleared more than $210 million worth of sales last year in the lucrative Gold Coast market.

Ms Kuo was a single mother with no money and only broken English when she plunged headlong into a career in real estate, having fled to Australia as an outcast from her native country of Taiwan.

She introduced the buyer to a waterfront estate at 5 McMillan Ct, Southport, which became the most expensive property ever sold under the hammer in Queensland at $24.8 million.

“A good agent never gives up,” said, noting the groundwork that goes into establishing a strong database.

Rounding out the top three female agents with the highest value of residential sales for 2023 is Rochelle Adgo of Ray White, who sold a whopping 139 properties — more than any other agent on the list — amounting to more than $124 million in sales.

Ms Adgo has Brisbane’s inner northwest market cornered, with Ray White’s chief auctioneer Gavin Croft describing her as “a machine”.

She holds a ‘Super Auction Week’ every year, which is a three-day event, and this year she auctioned 30 properties.

“Of course many agents will auction more over the course of a year, but not at one event as such,” Mr Croft said.
