A leading property developer is set to build hundreds of homes in Queensland’s bustling western growth corridor in a bid to ease the state’s housing shortage crisis.

SIG Group will bring over 600 homes to market adjacent to the Ripley Town Centre, with the Amory project the last available land for sale in the highly sought-after area.

The project is set to offer a range of products to buyers, such as an extensive selection of terrace products, affordable, low-maintenance options for first-home buyers and downsizers and large homes, including two-storey five bedroom residences to cater for more seasoned buyers.

CEO of SIG Group, Hugh Lu, said Amory is not just about providing affordable homes; it’s about offering a wide selection of lot types that cater to diverse lifestyle needs.

“We’ve had a soft launch of the project so far with a decent amount of interest, and we’re looking to publicly launch (the project) with a bang on the 16th September.,” Mr Lu said.

“There are primarily owner-occupiers in the area; we have people coming in and asking when we will be launching.

“The biggest thing this project will deliver is relief from the current housing shortage.

“We’re delivering projects within walking distance of existing infrastructure, and from our point of view, it also stimulates the Ripley region.

“Building shortages is something we’ve always got to manage, and there is no doubt everyone in the property industry is struggling.

“We’re not house builders, so to that end, we hope there are blue sky’s ahead rather than shortages ahead.”

Mr Lu said the Ripley project is different because it is Australia’s fastest-growing residential corridor.

“The shopping centre is already there; the future railway station is just a doorstep away,” he said.

“All of these things the project enjoys are very much what you would typically describe in an already built-up area.

“The legacy of the project is significant to us, and it’s why we took it on.

“We’re here to deal with lasting communities that we can be proud of and return to in 20 years.

“It has always been part of the puzzle to Ripley.”
