QUEENSLAND’S hurtling home prices are lining the pockets of a growing pool of young real estate agents — many still in their 20s — who are raking in millions of dollars a year.

Real estate transaction figures provided exclusively to the Sunday Mail reveal nearly 20 residential agents across the state under the age of 35 each pulled in more than $50 million in sales last year.

Some of the top performing young guns are understood to have scored up to $2 million in gross commission over the year.

The 40 young agents with the highest total sales secured well over $1 billion in
Queensland property deals in the 12 months.

Topping the list is Ray White North Lakes agent Ryan Suhle, who at just 21, sold 198 properties last year valued at a staggering $172 million.

New mum Courtney Caulfield of Place Kangaroo Point, 33, was one of the top performers based on 2023 sales figures submitted by major agencies across the state.

The talented agent gave birth to her son, Krug, with fellow agent and husband, Simon Caulfield, just six weeks ago — in between settling more than $20 million worth of apartment sales.

Other agents pulling in jaw-dropping sales figures include quiet achiever Jack Harvey, 28, of Coronis Chermside, who smashed out $72 million in sales in the Bald Hills area in Brisbane’s north, and Michael Bacon of Place Kangaroo Point, with $71.7 million in sales for 2023 — and he’s only 25.

“I’ve got a large client base. We just go hard in our Bald Hills pocket and achieve the great results because of it.

“I deal with a lot of young first home owners. It’s always very satisfying to me to deal with people who want to get into the property market, get their first property, or a mum and dad investor helping out their kids.”

Another standout is Tamara Hall of Tamara Hall Properties - Remax Advantage, with the 34-year-old recording more than $71 million worth of sales on Brisbane’s bayside last year.

“My routine when I wake up, meditation, journalling, and building the strongest possible foundation for myself,” she said.

“It’s kind of like if you went to run a marathon, if you didn’t you couldn’t do it. If you genuinely believe you could finish it, then you would.

“17 years ago, I was 19 and started with my mum. I was shadowing her for a long time and I had the opportunity to go out and sell real estate on my own and didn’t believe that I could.

“I actually walked away from real estate at one point eight years ago. It was really dramatic because I thought I was failing.

“I had all this knowledge to be a real estate agent in my own life but I needed to be in the right mindset to believe that I could do it.

One of the top selling young Queensland agents outside Brisbane was Danny Stanley from Kollosche, who sold more than $64 million worth of real estate last year in the suburbs of Mermaid Beach, Broadbeach, and Main Beach.

Real Estate Institute of Queensland CEO Antonia Mercorella said the drive young people had was not often understood.

“What strikes me about these young agents is they’re not letting their age hold them back,” Ms Mercorella said.

“It isn’t a nine to five job, yet these young people have a willingness to work around the clock. When you see these people who are so young that are achieving the revenue and levels of success — they’re earning the kinds of remuneration that many of us dream of.

“What is also interesting is the number of women, particularly high achieving young women in real estate. We speak a lot about the pay gap in other professions but in real estate, women are very successful. Some of the most successful agents around are females. We’re talking about women leading teams in leadership roles, it is incredibly noteworthy.”
