A real estate agent has been fired after allegedly making comments about tenants who ‘probably earn $50k a year’ or were on Centrelink, saying she ‘can’t wait to sell the houses they rent’.
Aimee Marsh was dismissed after a social media backlash that saw screenshots of comments she allegedly made on social media sent to her employer.
Ms Marsh was alleged to have said in a community group that they “probably earn $50k a year and envious of me (laughing emoji) I pay twice their wage in tax (smiley face) or I probably pay their Centrelink wages (laughing emoji)”.

She also allegedly stated: “Jealousy is a curse. & money controls people’s emotions lol. I can’t wait to sell the houses they rent (hands over eyes emoji) hehe”.
When contacted yesterday Ms Marsh said she had been contacted by several reporters over the matter.
“I am drafting a big response for everyone,” she said. That response has not been received at the time of publication.
A backlash over statements attributed to Ms Marsh was plastered over Ray White Aspley’s Facebook posts on Tuesday, with one woman Samantha Faith Cadd saying “apparently making people homeless is funny to your employees”.
The Brisbane-based agency responded with a statement which said: “At Ray White Aspley we pride ourselves on customer service. We respect and value each and every one within our community. The views of Aimee Marsh do not align with the values of our business. As a result, we’ve made the business decision to terminate her employment immediately. We apologise to anyone who may have been offended as well as any members within our community if these views have offended.”
A Ray White spokeswoman confirmed Ms Marsh “no longer works for Ray White”.
“We support the team at Aspley, and agree with this stance. The behaviour was reprehensible and our franchisee acted accordingly.”
The spokeswoman said “for over a century, Ray White has stood as a beacon of integrity and family values in the real estate industry. With a heritage spanning 121 years, we remain committed to upholding the principles of what is right and wrong”.
“Our unwavering dedication to these values is a testament to our enduring success. At Ray White, family values are not just words; they guide our every action and we aspire to be proud of every single transaction.”
