Several emergency services crews had to cut short their Christmas celebrations to respond to a house fire at Alligator Creek on Wednesday afternoon.
A Queensland Police spokesman said there were reports of a house fire with lots of smoke and the roof well alight on Alligator Creek Rd at 3.19pm.
Four Queensland Fire Department crews arrived at the scene at 3.30pm and began tackling the blaze which was burning in the single-storey building’s roof space.
There was no one still in the house, with all residents safely evacuated by the time the fireys arrived.
Fire crews were still working to bring the blaze under control at 4.20pm.
A Queensland Ambulance spokesman confirmed that they were not required to treat any patients at the scene.
