Magnetic Island: Man in serious condition after spear gun ‘accident’ at Nelly Bay

A man has been rushed to hospital in serious condition after a spear gun accidentally went off and struck his chest on Magnetic Island.

A man has been rushed to hospital in serious condition after a spear gun accidentally went off and struck his chest on Magnetic Island.

Paramedics were called to assist after a speargun reportedly accidentally fired at a private residence in Nelly Bay at about 10.35pm on Saturday, the Queensland Ambulance Service reported.

A man in his 20s was flown to Townsville Hospital in a serious condition with a chest injury.
