In suits of gleaming armour and with all manner of weapons slung over their shoulders, a select group of knights answered a rare call to arms at the weekend.
Attracting combatants and spectators from across south east Queensland, the Tyr’s Warriors Fight Knight proved to a massive hit in and out of the ring.
Fans flocked to the Toowoomba Showgrounds on Saturday to watch battles between participants dressed in authentic medieval suits of armour and welding ultra realistic weapons.
The fights, known as buhurts, pitted individuals and teams against each other.
For the first time ever the event also saw a number of female knights put their skills and armour to the test in the arena.
