One of Australia’s premier musical comedians will be hitting the stage of the Empire Theatre to celebrate 20 years since his breakthrough album.
Musician Tim Minchin is bringing his new show Songs The World Will Never Hear to Toowoomba on December 7, in support of new album Time Machine.
The show mixes his sharp wit and sonic virtuosity across a set covering the past three decades of his career.
It comes 20 years since the release of his show and subsequent album Darkside, which has been credited with launching his career into the mainstream.
“Twenty years ago, Darkside took me from tiny cabaret rooms to the West End of London,” Minchin said in a statement.
“In the years since then, I’ve pushed the boat out in as many directions as possible, and I’ve only been able to do so because of my fans.
“They’ve never flinched as I’ve turned corners and reinvented myself, always engaging open-heartedly with whatever I have to offer.
“I’m the luckiest artist on the planet and I can’t wait to be back touring my home country with a big joyous show, spanning my whole bloody mad career.”
Ticketholders will be able to buy Time Machine for just $5 as part of the show.
