One of the Toowoomba CBD’s most beloved restaurants and rooftop venues has shut its doors suddenly, much to the dismay of fans.
Muller Bros, which has been a presence in the Bell St pedestrian mall since 2016, revealed it had closed its restaurant and cafe to the public.
Moving trucks were seen loading up kitchen equipment and other stock on Wednesday, with a sign posted in the window of the shop noting the “unforeseen” closure.
“Apologies for any inconvenience,” the sign said.
Muller Bros was a pioneer in the Toowoomba night-life scene, becoming the city’s first rooftop venue that specialised in Brazilian-style barbecuing.
On the ground floor, the business’ cafe arm was a regular for CBD workers with its offering of breakfast foods, pastries and coffee.
The Courier-Mail named the venue one of Queensland’s best “high life bars” back in 2018, and sits within the top 25 restaurants in Toowoomba according to TripAdvisor.
“An experience one should not miss, for all meat lovers, meat sweats galore. Delicious morsels, exceptional service and an amazing atmosphere,” said one review on Google, where it has a rating of 4.5 stars.
Managing director Jeremy Hardy was contacted for comment.
It comes just days after the Hog’s Breath Cafe, around the corner from Muller Bros in the CBD, also revealed it had closed.
