Toowoomba police arrest man after stolen vehicle crashes into parked car

Toowoomba police have arrested a man after an allegedly stolen vehicle crashed into a parked car near the centre of town.

A man has been taken into custody by police after an allegedly stolen vehicle crashed into a parked car in Toowoomba on Sunday.

Police will allege the vehicle, a Toyota Landcruiser reported stolen from a Yandilla property the previous day, was witnessed crashing into a car parked along Herries Street just before 9.30am.

Initial investigations suggest the vehicle left the scene, driving over a traffic island that deflated it tyres.

Police tracked the Landcruiser to the intersection of Long and Geddes streets in South Toowoomba, where a man was arrested without incident.

Investigations are continuing into the matter.
