This week is expected to feel similar to last week’s moody forecast, but with each day bringing an addition degree until the weekend, which is predicted to reach about 30C.
Last week hail storms ripped through the northern regions of the Darling Downs, casting a threatening menace on the region’s largest city, Toowoomba, which managed to miss most of the wilder weather.
This week ahead is also expected to be wet, with scattered showers and storms throughout the week, but each day should add another degree to the thermometer, Bureau of Meteorology meteorologist Livio Regano said.
Temperatures are set to crescendo towards the weekend, with BOM expecting temperatures to climb from a top of 23C today, 24C on Wednesday and 28C Thursday before reaching a top of 30C in Toowoomba on Saturday. Dalby could potentially see a top of 34C on Saturday.
The Western Downs is likely to have a wet, stormy start to the week with the rain hitting the eastern parts of the region from Tuesday or Wednesday onwards, Mr Regano said.
But still keep a rain jacket or warm jumper on hand on as minimum temperatures are expected to hover between 10C – 19C throughout the week.
