The case against a 45-year-old Oakey man charged with attempted murder of police officers took a step closer towards a hearing after it was mentioned in Toowoomba Magistrates Court.

Bartholomew Peter Dornbusch has been held in custody since his arrest shortly after the alleged incident on the afternoon of May 24 near Goombungee and was not required to be in court on Thursday when his case was mentioned.

His solicitor Ryan McCullough, of MacDonald Law, told the court the defence had received most of the police material though it was expected there would be more to come.

He said Toowoomba barrister David Jones KC was to be briefed in the matter.

Mr Dornbusch has not as yet been required to enter any pleas to the charges which included two counts of attempted murder, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, endangering the safety of a person in a vehicle with intent, and a range of other unrelated matters which include possessing dangerous drugs, unlawful possession of weapons, burglary, fraud, stealing, receiving, and drug driving.

Police allege Mr Dornbusch rammed two police officers trying to arrest him from an allegedly stolen truck on May 24.

It is further alleged he fled the scene before crashing into another police vehicle at the Goombungee rubbish tip.
