Motorcyclist, 48, killed in horror crash at Balhannah in Adelaide Hills

A 48-year-old man has died following a motorcycle crash in the Adelaide Hills on Sunday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash at Balhannah about 1pm.

However, the rider, from Greenhill, died at the scene.

The single motorcycle crash happened at the intersection of Kerr and Beaumont roads.

Diversions are in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area.

The man is the 68th life lost on South Australian roads so far this year.

It comes just hours after a 27-year-old man died after his car slammed into a light pole and then a tree at Waterloo Corner on Sunday morning.

Emergency services were called to Port Wakefield Rd at around 3.45am on Sunday after reports a car had crashed into a light pole and then a tree.

The driver, 27, from Elizabeth North, died at the scene.
