A car has slammed into a light pole at Waterloo Corner, causing traffic to be diverted.

A car has crashed into a light pole at Waterloo Corner.

Emerged services were called to Port Wakefield Road at around 3.45am on Sunday.

Northbound traffic is being diverted to Old Port Wakefield Road and motorists are urged to take an alternative route.

One southbound lane is closed.

Major crash investigators have been called to the scene.
