Brazilian restaurant B’Churrasco battles blaze as Paper Tiger announces temporary closure following kitchen fire
Just days after a popular CBD eatery was forced to temporarily close following a kitchen fire, a nearby restaurant in the East End has had to evacuate diners after an overnight blaze.

Fire has ripped through another popular East End restaurant overnight, with Easter Saturday staff and diners forced to evacuate after smoke and flames were spotted.
Emergency services were called to Brazilian restaurant B’Churrasco on East Tce in the CBD just after 10.20pm on Saturday evening, after reports of smoke billowing from the second storey of the building.
It is understood smoke was also reported filling the street and flames were seen coming from the roof.
Eight MFS appliances with 32 firefighters, as well as a command car responded to the incident, and East Tce was closed between North Tce and Grenfell St. It has since reopened.
An MFS spokeswoman on Sunday morning confirmed the fire started in the kitchen, before spreading to the roof space.
“Crews quickly initiated an internal attack and brought the blaze under control within 30 minutes, successfully preventing further spread through the roof.”
She said people evacuated safely an no injuries were reported.
Fire investigators found the cause of the blaze to be accidental, with damages to the building estimated to be $200,000.
It is the third restaurant fire in the Adelaide CBD in just one week, and comes only days after another East End eatery was forced to evacuate.
SA Police confirmed the fire was not suspicious.
Rundle St South Asian restaurant Paper Tiger are currently temporarily closed after a fire erupted on Wednesday night.
The venue on Thursday confirmed everyone was safe.
“We know we’re the hottest spot to eat in town … but this isn’t the kind of heat we meant,” they posted on social media.
“A kitchen fire has hit Paper Tiger overnight. The good news? Everyone’s safe. The bad news? We’ve got some work to do behind the scenes before we can welcome you back.
“We’ll keep you posted and can’t wait to fire things back up (the right way).”
Last Saturday night, Leigh St restaurant Fugazzi was also forced to close for a night following a kitchen fire that caused $200,000 in damage.
The blaze started in the kitchen around 4:30pm with flames spreading to the roof by the time firefighters arrived.
The damage is estimated at $200,000 with significant water damage caused by the building’s sprinkler system.
The venue reopened on Sunday evening.
