Fugazzi forced to close after fire causing $200,000 water damage
Adelaide’s iconic Fugazzi restaurant has been forced to close early after a fire caused $200,000 in damages.

A popular city restaurant has been forced to close its doors after a fire ripped through the building right before the Gather Round dinner rush on Saturday.
The fire started in the kitchen at Fugazzi Bar and Dining Room around 4:30pm with flames spreading to the roof by the time firefighters arrived.
The damage is estimated at $200,000 with significant water damage caused by the building’s sprinkler system.
Leigh St was temporarily blocked off while fire crews battled the blaze.
The Fugazzi fire is the second major blaze to occur this week following a Meadows repairshop fire which caused more than $500,000 damage on Thursday.
Since opening in 2021, Fugazzi has become one of Adelaide’s most popular dining institutions, attracting some of the world’s biggest celebrities.
In recent years, its served the likes of Hollywood icon Henry Winkler, Beatles legend Paul McCartney and singer Sam Smith.
