The Port City will be glowing extra bright this week with one of the regions most anticipated events of the year, Luminous, set to light up the eyes of locals at the Tondoon Botanic Gardens for three consecutive nights of action.
The Luminous light festival, to be held July 14-16, features impressive lighting displays, illuminated art, live music, roving entertainment, workshops, children’s activities and much more.
This year attendees can spend their time having a go at free illuminated activities including LED mini golf, UV glow rallies, lantern workshops, face painting, UV craft, LED hula hooping, big screen gaming, owl hunting, UV night life drawing and UV art.
Up to 15 food vendor options and an 18+ glow bar will be located throughout the gardens for families and locals to make the most of.
Glow stalls, light interactive installations and the all ages DJ alley will also be hot property over the three nights.
Locals who would like to beat the rush and experience Luminous in all its glory with less crowds, reduced traffic and easier parking are advised to visit the Gladstone Regional Council website to purchase a ticket for this Thursday evening only.
Entry for Friday, July 15, and Saturday, July 16, will be gold coin on entry with no pre-purchasing of tickets required.
Gladstone Region Deputy Mayor Kahn Goodluck said the Thursday night Luminous celebration would offer an exclusive sneak peek ahead of the main event on Friday and Saturday.
“Luminous saw 26,000 people come through the gates of Tondoon Botanic Gardens across two nights in 2021,” Cr Goodluck said.
“This year we are offering early access on Thursday night to provide a more intimate experience with a reduced crowd but all the lights.”
