More than a year after Toowoomba residents woke in their beds to guns being levelled at their heads, the criminals have fronted court for the chilling home invasion.

On January 9, 2024, three people, including Brandon Duncan, 29, and Jack Andrew Perrin, 23, broke into a Glenvale home armed with guns.

Their faces were covered with masks.

The Toowoomba District Court heard the gunmen forced their way into the home, splintering the door, before waking people at gunpoint.

After turning on a bedroom light, Perrin told a person at gunpoint, “I’ll put a bullet in your head,” if they didn’t hand over the car keys.

While that occurred, the court heard Duncan and the third co-offender entered the bedrooms of two other people.

Guns were pointed at a couple, who were threatened to have their “brains blown out,” if they didn’t hand over keys and phones.

The following day, police found the car used in the robbery bogged in mud and received reports that four people covered in mud were walking along train tracks.

They were all soon arrested, with police finding two pairs of stolen car keys and a sawn-off shotgun nearby.

Duncan and Perrin have been in custody since the arrest, spending 500 days in custody.

Before the Toowoomba District Court on Friday, May 23, Duncan and Perrin pleaded guilty to the same raft of charges – unlawful use in company, burglary by break at night causing damage, armed robbery in company, and weapon possession.

Perrin was sentenced to a five-year jail term and will be eligible for parole on November 9, 2025.

Duncan, who had a relevant criminal history, was sentenced to a six-year jail term and will be eligible for parole on January 9, 2026.
