Proserpine police charge ute driver after Conway Road, Preston crash
A Whitsunday man involved in a serious car crash allegedly wanted little to do with emergency services attending the scene, and police think they know why.

Police will allege drink-driving was the cause of a nasty single-vehicle crash at Preston at the weekend.
A 43-year-old Jubilee Pocket man allegedly had a 0.188 blood alcohol concentration after the Sunday morning crash and will face court on a high-range drink-driving charge in October.
Proserpine Police Acting Sergeant Officer-In-Charge Shaun Myors said the man lost control of his ute and rolled it onto its roof on Conway Road about 6.30am on September 26.
Sgt Myors said the driver refused treatment from attending Queensland Ambulance Service staff, and left the scene when police arrived.
“The male then returned to the scene and appeared to be intoxicated,” Sgt Myors said.
Cops seize $50,000 Proserpine marijuana crop
A 50-year-old Proserpine man is facing multiple charges for allegedly growing a sizeable crop of marijuana plants at home.
Proserpine Acting Sergeant Officer-In-Charge Shaun Myors said police found 21 plants in a search about lunchtime on Friday, September 24.
“The plants were ranging in maturity and have an estimated street value of $50,000,” Sgt Myors said.
Police seized the plants along with smoking implements and other drug-related items allegedly found at the house.
The male occupant was charged with producing dangerous drugs, possessing dangerous drugs, possessing utensils and things in relation to drug offences, to appear at Proserpine Magistrates Court in October.
