Bowen’s most longstanding chicken restaurant will close its doors by the end of the week.
It was a shock to loyal customers when the Red Rooster Bowen franchise announced they would close their doors no later than by the end of this week on their Facebook page.
Linda Blake has owned the business since 2014, which had a grand opening on December 20, 2014.
The 23 Leichhardt Street address in Bowen was last sold on September 19, 2022 by company Burgess Rawson Queensland.
At the time, the lessees included Red Rooster drive-through, which had a lease until 2035, Subway with a lease to 2047, as well as additional leases to an established hairdresser and a tobacconist.
On their Facebook page, the Red Rooster team told their customers the store would close down due to their Red Rooster Agreement reaching its end.
“I want to take this moment to thank every customer who has been part of our story over the last 10 years, ” the post said.
“Your support has meant the world to us.
“You guys can turn a rough day around just with your smiles and support.”
We have reached out to Ms Blake, but she had declined to comment.
