Brisbane weather: Xmas forecast for southeast Qld

Christmas Eve will herald the start of several days of high humidity and thunderstorms for southeast Queensland, according to the weather bureau.

CHRISTMAS Eve is expected to kick off four days of high humidity and thunderstorms for southeast Queensland.

Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Rosa Hoff said it wasn’t expected to be a particularly hot Christmas Day, with Brisbane predicted to reach 32C and the Gold and Sunshine coasts 29C.

“Brisbane is set to be the warmest at 32C, with the average temperature for Brisbane in December at 29C,” she said.

“There’s a higher chance that it will rain, than it being very hot, so we’re leaning towards a cooler Christmas.”

Mudgeeraba local Shelby Wayt and her horse Aussie keep cool during the summer months by heading to the beach.

“Aussie’s a pretty unique horse, as soon as we get down there he’ll lie down and he likes the sound of the waves, he loves the beach,” she said.
