Brisbane traffic: Multiple crashes, a rollover, and wet conditions add significant delays for Brisbane commuters

A tree has fallen on to a moving car at Redlands, causing twin crashes on an already chaotic day on Queensland’s roads.
Three people were taken to hospital after the freak incident, which happened near a BP service station on Mt Cotton Rd, Mt Cotton.
The fallen tree blocked lanes in both directions.
Witnesses told The Courier-Mail that the tree fell on to a white car, causing it to suddenly stop, and then a utility travelling behind crashed into the rear.
At the same time, a blue vehicle travelling in the opposite direction swerved to avoid the tree and slammed into a ditch.
Police on the scene diverted traffic, with motorists urged to avoid the area.
Multiple crashes across Brisbane have caused significant delays for motorists travelling through wet conditions this morning.
Motorists were advised to avoid certain areas and allow for extra travel time as crashes, lane closures, and wet weather across Greater Brisbane added significant time to the morning commute.
Overnight rain has continued into the morning and, while the worst of the conditions are in the Granite Belt and Darling Downs regions to the west, it’s been a soggy start to the day for most of the southeast.
Traffic authorities alerted motorists that all major arterials across Brisbane faced delays due to the wet conditions and advised commuters to be patient, safe, and courteous.
Most of the earlier crashes have been cleared, but traffic remains slower than normal across much of the city.
About 6.15am, authorities advised there were delays of at least 30 minutes for the Pacific Motorway northbound from about Loganholme.

The northbound delays were compounded by a minor crash at Holland Park West, after the Gaza Rd exit, about 6.30am which has caused significant congestion back to Mt Gravatt.
Buses travelling inbound along Pacific Motorway at Eight Mile Plains were delayed by at least 15 minutes.
A separate crash on the Gateway Mwy caused at least 15-minute delays for northbound motorists.
The two-vehicle crash between a truck and a tow truck occurred near Boondall, just after the Bicentennial Rd exit, about 6.50am.

The crash forced the closure of the centre and right lanes and delays built quickly, stretching back past Nudgee.
Police diverted traffic on the Gateway Mwy following the crash. Diversions are ongoing for the on and off ramps at Bicentennial Rd as multiple lanes blocked have delays back to Southern Cross Way.
A multi-vehicle crash on Deception Bay Rd about 6.36am caused delays for southbound motorists.
A patient was transported to hospital in a stable condition following the crash.

Another incident involving a truck rollover and diesel spill near Acacia Ridge forced the partial closure of a street near Beaudesert Rd.
About 6.30am, a male in his 30s was transported to hospital with minor injuries after the truck rollover on Bradman St, Acacia Ridge.
The Ipswich Mwy eastbound was also below speed from Dinmore to Gailes, and from Darra to Oxley.
Further north, one patient was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition following a two-vehicle crash on Jessica Boulevard and Kensington Drive in Minyama on the Sunshine Coast at 7.28am.
