Warwick weather: Storms and heavy rains forecast this week

Heavy rains and thunderstorms are expected to continue to saturate the Warwick region this week, after more than half the average monthly rain fell overnight Sunday.

More wild weather forecast for the Warwick region this week, after significant amounts of rain fell overnight on Sunday.

As much as 42.8mm of rain was recorded in Warwick on Monday morning, according to Weatherzone, which is more than half the November average of 78.1mm.

BOM says further storms will start developing again late today, with outlying areas in the Granite Belt expected to be hit by heavy rainfall.

BOM says storms are also possible throughout the week, but will become severe again on Thursday.

A dumping of as much as 45mm is forecast for Thursday, as part of a statewide weather system that will continue into Friday.

Conditions should ease for the weekend.

Storms are probably going to start clearing by Friday, BOM said.

“It’s probably going to be a good weekend,” a spokesman said.
