Warwick Turf Club named as best wedding venue in Southern Queensland at Australian Wedding Industry Awards

A beloved Warwick establishment has been crowned as the best wedding venue in Southern Queensland, beating out some major competition, and that’s just the beginning of their grand plans.

A beloved Warwick venue has taken out the top prize at the Australian Wedding Industry Awards, and it’s only getting started.

Warwick Turf Club received the top award for wedding venue in the Southern Queensland Country category, beating big names from Toowoomba.

It’s a step towards bigger plans for the future, with the historic venue recently finishing a huge expansion project, and hosting one of country Australia’s premiere race days.

Warwick Turf Club chief operations officer Kristen Doyle said the club was over the moon with the win, and a lot of work had gone into getting the club to where it was now.

“We can’t just rely on racing 10 times a year to fund the turf club, and the extra income from holding events helps fund projects we want to outside of racing,” Mrs Doyle said.

“I’d say one of the biggest draws for weddings at the turf club is that it’s private and secluded, you can have the whole venue to yourself.

“We’ve got a lot of potential and people are starting to see it, we’re so proud of it, I’ve got the gold award logo on my email signature, on the website and Facebook page.”

Following the biggest day of the year for the club, the 2022 Warwick Credit Union Warwick Cup, the turf club team has begun planning for the new year.

Going into 2023, the turf clubs has plans to up the amounts of racing it holds and host more events at its award-winning function centre.

The club is planning to up the number of race meets to 16 a year, and double down on making the venue the perfect spot for any function, from birthdays, engagement parties and weddings.

“We’ve got a lot of big plans for the pavilion, we’re going to make the club bigger and better.”
