Two junior Warwick cricket stars to represent region in Queensland School Cricket Carnival

Two junior cricket guns will be representing Warwick and the region in Rockhampton next week at the Queensland School Cricket Carnival. Meet the pair and read the details:

Two Warwick junior cricket players head to sunny Central Queensland next week to represent the region in the Queensland Cricket Carnival.

Jacob Fox and Jack Burton are two star all rounders and will be competing with the Under-12 Darling Downs side.

Warwick Representative Cricket co-ordinator Adam Fox said that the pair worked hard over the winter months to get to that level, and have improved significantly over the last 12 months.

“You ask any kid and they all want to represent Darling Downs, that red jumper and baggy hat means a lot to them- its prestigious,” Fox said.

“If you work hard you’re rewarded by representing the region and inspires you to go on to greater levels of cricket and continuously improve, they’re both excited to play against some of the best in the state.”

A spokesman for Warwick junior cricket said it was ‘very rare’ to have two boys selected from Warwick for the squad, usually it is only one.

“Warwick as a town always supports it’s young sport stars, and Warwick Cricket Association is extremely proud of the achievement by the two players,” the spokesman said.

The u12 Queensland Cricket Carnival kicks off October 16 in Rockhampton.
